The rebellion was put down within weeks, and the reprisals that followed — including the massacre at Batak — are what turned European opinion towards Bulgarian independence. Unfortunately, there is not much to see at the rose valley. Unless you are a rose lover and you want to buy some rose oil products from the origin, don’t sign up for this tour. The town Koprivshtitsa is quite disappointing. Everything was closed except a few gift shops.”
